Short numbers: the classic premium signal
Single-digit and many double-digit plates are consistently among the most expensive categories because they are extremely scarce and widely recognized as prestige items.
Even within short numbers, the exact digit matters: certain numbers are culturally preferred and can command a premium over other short numbers.
Repeating patterns and sequences
Repeating patterns (e.g., 1111, 888, 7777) are popular because they are visually distinctive and easy to remember.
Sequences (123, 12345) and mirrored numbers (1221) can also be desirable. These patterns often trade at a premium compared to random combinations of similar length.
Why emirate and code can change the value
Two plates with the same number can have very different values depending on emirate and code. Market depth and prestige differ across emirates.
Collectors may also place value on specific codes within an emirate. Over time, these preferences show up in transaction data — which is exactly what the model learns.
Use rarity as a story, not just a label
When selling, it's not enough to say "rare". Explain why: "double-digit", "repeating pattern", "sequence", "low number", etc.
Good explanations help buyers understand the premium — and support stronger pricing during negotiation.
